TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1

USA / Cairo

On board flight to Cairo, Egypt, Meals on board.

Day 2

Arrive Cairo (B)

Upon Landing at the Cairo International Airport, our representatives will meet you at the arrival hall and assist you through Customs formalities. You will then be escorted to your hotel via private air-conditioned transportation. 

Day 3

Giza Full Day Tour (B/L)

After breakfast, travel via air conditioned transportation to meet your expert English speaking Egyptologist and stand in awe of the power and grandeur of the Great Pyramids located just 9 miles west of Cairo, and tour the Great Pyramids of Giza. There see King Cheop’s pyramid built 2650 BC, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Then view the nearby Great Sphinx. You may want to take a camel ride at this time or possibly return for one during the incredibly beautiful sunrise and sun sets on another day. After an authentic Egyptian lunch in a local restaurant, Go on to visit the King Djoser’s Step Pyramid at Sakkara, which were the First Pyramids, built in Egypt. Continue to Memphis, the onetime Capitol of Ancient Egypt and view the towering statue of Ramses II. Stop by the Bazaar shopping area before returning to your hotel for an evening of relaxation...

Optional Sound & Light Show at the footsteps of Sphinx and the Great Pyramids. 

Day 4

Cairo (B/L)

Begin your Egyptian adventure with a visit to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, which houses the World’s largest collection of artifacts from the era of the Pharaohs and includes the treasures from the Tut-Ankh-Amun tomb. Later, Enjoy lunch in an authentic Egyptian restaurant and then spend the afternoon tour Old Cairo where early Judaism and Christianity flourished in Egypt. Visit sites like the synagogue of Beni Ezra, the oldest synagogue in Egypt, and El Moallaka Church, where the Virgin Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus took refuge... End the day shopping at the Bazaar of Khan El Khalili for one of the unique Egyptian items, cartouche, papyrus, pharaonic statues, or just to experience the art of bargaining. Return to your hotel for an evening at leisure.

Day 5

Flight to Aswan for Cruise Departure (B/L/D)

In Aswan, Egypt’s sunniest southern city and ancient frontier town, a favorite winter resort due its dry climate check into your Deluxe Nile Cruise Ship at noon.  After lunch, sail the Nile to Elephantine Island on a Fellucca sail boat for a view of the Nilometer, Lord Kitchner's Botanical Garden, return to the cruise for an evening of entertainment or relaxation. 

Optional: Before check in you will fly to Abu SIMBLE. In Aswan, take a scenic half hour flight over Lake Nasser to Abu SIMBLE, and tour this magnificent site. Enter the vast chambers and touch the towering statues carved thousands of years ago. There, incredibly, only on the King’s birthday and on the anniversary of his coronation a ray of sunlight penetrates through the massive rock structures and shines on an interior shrine to him. After this unique tour, return to Aswan, and check into cruise ship.

Day 6

Aswan/Kom-Ombo (B/L/D)

After Breakfast tour the Aswan High Dam which was an engineering miracle when built in the 1960’s. Visit the granite quarries of the 1150 ton unfinished Obelisk and continue to Philae Temple dedicated to the Goddess Isis. See the various shrines, which include the temple for Hathor, the goddess of fertility, then sail to Kom-Ombo to see the Twin Temple of Sobek, the Crocodile God and Haroeris, the Good Doctor, which are surrounded by sugarcane fields. Interesting, sculptured walls show ancient surgical instruments and dental tools at those sites. Return to the ship for some relaxation or entertainment.

Day 7

Kom-Ombo/Edfu/ Esna/ Luxor (B/L/D)

Enjoy the sights along the river’s edge near the palm trees, tropical plants, amber desert, and granite rocks as you sail for Edfu where you will take a horse drawn carriage to see the temple dedicated to the Ancient God Horus, the falcon headed God. Then return to the ship to enjoy lunch and continue to Esna and visit the temple of Khnum, the Egyptian Ram-headed creator god built during the Ptolomeic period, and walk through a Nubian village and small museum. Nearby is an early Christian Monastery built in the 4th Century A.D. Return to you ship and enjoy the entertainment and delicious cuisine on board as you sail to Luxor for overnight. In the evening, take an optional journey to view the Sound & Light Spectacular, which features words, light, and music to tell the story of the Magnificent Karnak Temple.  An optional Hot Air Balloon. Or Evening Sound and Light show at Karnak.

Day 8

Luxor /Cairo (B)

After an early breakfast visit the West bank where the sun sets on the City of the Dead, the Tombs of the Nobles and the Valley of the Kings and Queens. After crossing the Nile to the Necropolis of Thebes, you will visit the Valley of the Kings, Queens, and the Nobles. There see the famous tomb of King Tut-Ankh-Amun, Ramses III & IV, Amenhotep II, Tuthmosis III and Nefertari and more. Then, continue to the Queen Hatshepsut Funerary Temple, the only woman to rule over Egypt, then the Ramesseum, and finally the Colossi of Memnon, which contain the statues, 19 meters high, that the Greeks named after Memnon, the legendary hero killed at the Trojan War. After lunch visit the East bank of the Nile, the city of the living, where sunrise greets the 100-acre Karnak Temple, truly a remarkable sight. Visit the Luxor Museum and then go on to visit the Temple of Luxor built by two Pharaohs: Amenhotep III & Ramses II. This temple is dedicated to Amun-Ra. Late afternoon flight departure to Cairo, upon arrival transfer to your hotel in Cairo for overnight 

Day 9

Cairo (B)

Early morning transfer to the airport for you flight back home...
