Departure from the United States for an enjoyable flight to Cairo.
Upon landing at Cairo International Airport, our representatives will meet you at the arrival hall and assist you through customs formalities. You will then be escorted to your deluxe hotel on the Nile or by the Pyramids via private air-conditioned transportation.
After breakfast, travel via air-conditioned transportation to meet your expert English-speaking Egyptologist and stand in awe of the power and grandeur of the Great Pyramids, located just 9 miles west of Cairo, and tour the Great Pyramids of Giza.
There you will see the Pyramid of King Cheops, built around 2650 BC, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Then view the nearby Great Sphinx.
You may choose to take a camel ride at this time, or possibly return for one during the incredibly beautiful sunrise or sunset on another day.
Enjoy lunch at an authentic Egyptian restaurant, then spend the afternoon visiting the Grand Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, which houses the world’s largest collection of Pharaonic artifacts, including the treasures of Tutankhamun’s tomb.
End the day shopping at the Bazaar of Khan El Khalili or nearby bazaar shops for unique Egyptian items such as cartouches, papyrus, Pharaonic statues, or simply enjoy the art of bargaining.
In the late afternoon, return to the hotel for an evening at leisure, or attend an optional dinner and belly dance show, or the optional evening Sound & Light Show at the Sphinx and the Great Pyramids (if time permits due to Cairo traffic).
After breakfast or breakfast box, very early morning private transfer to Cairo Airport for your flight to Aswan.
In Aswan, Egypt’s sunniest southern city and ancient frontier town, and a favorite winter resort due to its dry climate, upon arrival you will be transferred to your Nile Cruise and check in to your deluxe cruise ship at noon.
After lunch, sail the Nile to Elephantine Island on a felucca sailboat for a view of the Nilometer and Lord Kitchener’s Botanical Garden. Return to the cruise for an evening of entertainment or relaxation.

Fly to Abu Simbel Temple
In Aswan, take a scenic half-hour flight over Lake Nasser to Abu Simbel Temple and tour this magnificent site. Enter the vast chambers and view the towering statues carved thousands of years ago.
There, incredibly, only on the King’s birthday and on the anniversary of his coronation, a ray of sunlight penetrates through the massive rock structure and illuminates an interior shrine.
After this unique tour, return to Aswan and check in to your boat for overnight.
After breakfast, tour the Aswan High Dam, an engineering miracle of the 1960s. Visit the granite quarries and the 1,150-ton Unfinished Obelisk, then continue to Philae Temple dedicated to the Goddess Isis.
See various shrines including the Temple of Hathor, the goddess of fertility.
Then sail to Kom Ombo to visit the twin temple of Sobek, the crocodile god, and Haroeris, the Good Doctor, surrounded by sugarcane fields.
The sculpted walls show ancient surgical instruments and dental tools.
Return to the ship for relaxation or entertainment.
Enjoy sights along the Nile including palm trees, tropical plants, amber desert, and granite rocks as you sail to Edfu.
Take a horse-drawn carriage to visit the Temple of Horus, the falcon-headed god.
Return to the ship for lunch and continue to Esna to visit the Temple of Khnum, the ram-headed creator god built during the Ptolemaic period.
Walk through a Nubian village and small museum. Nearby is an early Christian monastery built in the 4th century A.D.
Return to your ship for entertainment and fine dining as you sail to Luxor overnight.
In the evening, optional Sound & Light Spectacular at Karnak Temple, featuring words, lights, and music telling the story of ancient Egypt.
After an early breakfast, check out from the cruise (luggage will be transferred to your hotel).
Visit the West Bank, the City of the Dead, including the Tombs of the Nobles and the Valley of the Kings and Queens.
Explore the Necropolis of Thebes, including the tombs of King Tutankhamun, Ramses III & IV, Amenhotep II, Tuthmosis III, and Nefertari.
Continue to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the only female ruler of Egypt, then the Ramesseum, and finally the Colossi of Memnon, the giant statues standing 19 meters high.
After lunch:
On August 2, 2027, when the Moon completely covers the Sun, it will be a once-in-a-lifetime event — featuring the longest totality duration (6 minutes 23 seconds) for the next 87 years.
Depending on cruise timing & eclipse event, visit the East Bank of Luxor, the City of the Living, including Karnak Temple (100 acres), a truly breathtaking sight.
Also visit Luxor Temple, built by Pharaohs Amenhotep III and Ramses II, dedicated to Amun-Ra.
Transfer to your Luxor hotel for evening at leisure.
After breakfast, prepare to visit Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple if not already visited on August 2.
Afternoon transfer to Luxor Airport for your flight back to Cairo.
Upon arrival in Cairo, transfer to your hotel near the Nile or airport for overnight stay.
Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy breakfast and transfer to Cairo Airport for your international flight back to the United States.
